The micro-pavé tray. If you set 0.8–1.2 mm rounds on a Semsons wax setting machine, this is the tray that feeds them. A machined 40×80 grid holds 3,200 stones per fill, pitched so the 502 or 502B nozzle picks every one of them cleanly at full production speed — no misfeeds, no skipped positions in the wax, no surprises after casting. Same-day dispatch from Mumbai and Rajkot.

Sub-millimetre diamonds are the hardest stones in the shop to automate, and the tray is what decides whether you get away with it. The DSSMT-01 is the smallest-stone tray in the Semsons ladder: 3,200 pockets machined on a 40×80 matrix, each one cut to hold a 0.8–1.2 mm round at exactly the height the suction nozzle expects to find it. That is the whole job. Get it right and the machine runs a full tray without a single miss; get it wrong by a few microns and the nozzle starts arriving where the stone is not.
The cost of a bad tray is never the tray. A nozzle that misses leaves a gap in the wax model, and a gap in the wax model is invisible until the piece comes out of casting — at which point you are paying for metal, labour and a rework slot to fix something that started as a worn pocket. That is why we cut this tray to the coordinate map our own setters use rather than to a nominal size, and why we specify it as the standard consumable for micro-pavé, star-set, halo and eternity work.

Trays are sized by stone band, and each band pairs with a specific nozzle. Find your stone size in the table below and you have your tray — and your nozzle with it. This tray is highlighted.
| Tray Code | Stone Size Band | Grid | Capacity | Nozzle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DSSMT-01 | 0.8 – 1.2 mm | 40 × 80 | 3,200 | 502 / 502B ◀ this product |

Running a longer machine bed or want fewer reload stops? The same 0.8–1.2 mm band is also available as the wide-format DSSMT-01L (30 × 85 grid, 2,550 stones). Same stones, different footprint — pick the one that matches your bed and your reload rhythm.
A tray is a precision part that looks like a piece of plate, which is why it tends to get treated like one. Empty it by inverting it over a sorting pad instead of sweeping stones across the pockets, blow it out with clean dry air, and store it flat and unstacked. Keep solvents away from the pocket faces. Anything that scores, etches or dents a pocket changes its depth — and depth is the one dimension the nozzle is calibrated against. Treated properly, a tray outlasts a great many nozzles.
Match three things and you cannot go wrong: the stone size band (0.8 – 1.2 mm for this tray), the nozzle already fitted to your machine (502 or 502B), and your machine model. If any of the three does not match, order the tray next to it on the ladder above instead — or send us your machine model and stone size and we will confirm it for you before dispatch.
Yes — this tray is dimensioned for Semsons Tech Mini Pro, Pro Series, Pro Plus and Double Head 8 Nozzle wax setting machines. It is not a generic import tray cut to a nominal size; the pocket pitch is machined to the coordinate map our setters actually use, which is what keeps pickup accurate from the first stone to the last.
Stay inside the published band. Stones under the band sit too deep for the nozzle to seat against, and oversized stones bridge across the pocket mouth and get knocked aside on the next pass. Both show up as skipped positions in the wax, which you only discover after casting.
Most production floors keep one tray per size band they actually run, plus a spare of their highest-volume band. On double-station and double-head machines a second tray removes the reload pause entirely — you pre-fill one while the other is on the bed.
Empty it by inversion over a sorting pad rather than brushing stones across the pockets, blow out dust with clean dry air, and store it flat. Never stack loaded trays, and keep solvents off the pocket faces — anything that etches or scores a pocket changes its depth, and depth is what the nozzle is calibrated against.
Because 0.8–0.9 mm and 1.0–1.2 mm are pitched close enough to share one pocket geometry but are sorted into separate tray numbers — 08-09 and 10-11-12. Keep each group in its own tray so you are never hand-picking two bands out of one grid mid-run.
The DSSMT-01 ships same-day from our Mumbai and Rajkot warehouses, across India and to the 34+ countries we export to. Buying a full set of compact DSSMT trays to cover your whole size range, or restocking several of one band for a multi-machine floor? Ask for set pricing rather than ordering them one at a time.
