The platform every wax model starts from. A machined disc with a locating stud that puts each model in the same position on the machine bed, run after run. Sold as a single base — keep several so you can bed the next model at the bench while the machine is still working. Use with wax fixing silicon or thermoplastic beads on top. Fitment varies by machine model, so tell us yours and we will confirm before dispatch.

The Base with Stud (SSMBS-01) is the mounting platform your wax model sits on while the machine sets stones into it. A precision-machined disc, a perpendicular locating stud, a flat working face — and from those three things, a model position the machine can rely on. Sold as a single base.
An automatic setting machine does not see your wax model. It runs a coordinate map and trusts that the model is where the map says it is. The mounting base is what makes that trust reasonable — a flat, rigid, repeatably located platform that puts every model in the same place relative to the head. Everything upstream of it, from your CAD file to your nozzle choice, depends on that assumption holding.

The base is the cheapest way to buy back cycle time on a setting machine. With one base, the machine waits while you strip the finished model and bed the next one. With several, you prepare models at the bench in parallel and the machine only ever stops long enough to swap a base. On a double-station or double-head setter that turns a genuine pause into a few seconds, and it costs a fraction of the throughput it returns.
No, and it is not meant to. The base gives the model a repeatable position and a flat, rigid platform; the grip comes from wax fixing silicon, thermoplastic beads or glue applied on top of it. Order the base and your chosen fixing medium together — a base without one is not usable.
The stud is what makes the position repeatable. It locates the base the same way in the holder every time, so the coordinate map the machine runs against does not have to be re-established for each model. A stud that has been knocked out of perpendicular quietly puts every subsequent model at a slight angle — which is why a bent stud means a new base, not a straightening job.
More than one. The real gain from a stack of bases is that you prepare the next model off the machine while the current one is running, then swap bases rather than re-bedding wax on the bed. On a double-station or multi-shift floor that difference shows up directly in daily output.
When the disc face is no longer flat and clean, when the stud has shifted out of square, or when corrosion has pitted the mounting surface. All three do the same thing — they let the model sit at a slightly different height or angle than the machine assumes.
Peel fixing silicon off rather than scraping it, keep solvents off the machined faces, dry them properly if they have been cleaned, and store them so the studs are not taking load from a stack of other bases sitting on top.
Disc diameter, thickness and stud dimensions vary by machine model, and this listing is the general single base. Message us with your machine model and we will confirm the exact specification and send you the right one — we would rather check first than have you pay return freight on a base that does not seat.
This base is sold singly and ships same-day from our Mumbai and Rajkot warehouses once fitment is confirmed. If you want several — and most production floors do — ask about the 76 mm bulk packs, which work out cheaper per base than ordering singles one at a time.
