76 mm Base with Stud — 2 kg Pack

Order this if
The job giving every wax model the same fixed starting coordinates on the machine bed.
You also need wax fixing silicon (SSMAB-01A/B) or thermoplastic beads on top of it — the base does not grip the wax by itself.
Fitment universal across the Semsons setter range — no model check needed.
Your machine any Semsons Tech Mini Pro, Pro Series, Pro Plus or Double Head 8 Nozzle setter.

The 76 mm (3 inch) Base with Stud is the mounting platform your wax model sits on while the machine sets stones into it — a precision-machined disc, a perpendicular locating stud, and a flat working face that gives the machine a model position it can rely on. This listing is the 2 kg bulk pack: the same base as the 1 kg pack, twice the quantity, one consignment.

An automatic setting machine does not see your wax model. It runs a coordinate map and trusts that the model is where the map says it is. The mounting base is what makes that trust reasonable — a flat, rigid, repeatably located platform that puts every model in the same place relative to the head. Everything upstream of it, from your CAD file to your nozzle choice, depends on that assumption holding.

About the Pack

This is the 76 mm (3 inch) base with stud, supplied as a bulk pack sold by total pack weight rather than as a single unit. Bulk packs work out cheaper per base than buying singles, which is why most production floors restock this way — a stack of prepared bases is what keeps a setting machine from waiting on the bench. For the current piece count in this pack, message our sales desk before ordering and we will confirm it against the batch we are shipping.

Why Floors Keep a Stack of Them

The base is the cheapest way to buy back cycle time on a setting machine. With one base, the machine waits while you strip the finished model and bed the next one. With several, you prepare models at the bench in parallel and the machine only ever stops long enough to swap a base. On a double-station or double-head setter that turns a genuine pause into a few seconds, and it costs a fraction of the throughput it returns.

  • Parallel preparation — bed the next model while the current one runs
  • Repeatable coordinates — the stud locates identically every mount
  • Rigid platform — no flex under the head, no drift mid-run
  • Works with any fixing medium — silicon, thermoplastic beads or glue
  • Universal across the Semsons setter range — Mini Pro through Double Head 8 Nozzle

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the base hold the wax on its own?

No, and it is not meant to. The base gives the model a repeatable position and a flat, rigid platform; the grip comes from wax fixing silicon, thermoplastic beads or glue applied on top of it. Order the base and your chosen fixing medium together — a base without one is not usable.

Why does the stud matter?

The stud is what makes the position repeatable. It locates the base the same way in the holder every time, so the coordinate map the machine runs against does not have to be re-established for each model. A stud that has been knocked out of perpendicular quietly puts every subsequent model at a slight angle — which is why a bent stud means a new base, not a straightening job.

How many bases should I keep?

More than one. The real gain from a stack of bases is that you prepare the next model off the machine while the current one is running, then swap bases rather than re-bedding wax on the bed. On a double-station or multi-shift floor that difference shows up directly in daily output.

When does a base need replacing?

When the disc face is no longer flat and clean, when the stud has shifted out of square, or when corrosion has pitted the mounting surface. All three do the same thing — they let the model sit at a slightly different height or angle than the machine assumes.

How do I look after them?

Peel fixing silicon off rather than scraping it, keep solvents off the machined faces, dry them properly if they have been cleaned, and store them so the studs are not taking load from a stack of other bases sitting on top.

How many bases are in a 2 kg pack?

The pack is sold by weight rather than by a fixed count, so message our sales desk before ordering and we will confirm the piece count against the batch we are shipping. We would rather give you the real number for your pack than publish one that drifts.

Is the 2 kg pack better value than two 1 kg packs?

It is the same base at the same rate per kilo, delivered as one consignment instead of two. The saving is in freight and in handling, not in the unit rate — worth taking if you know you will use them.

Ordering, Dispatch & Support

The 2 kg pack ships same-day from our Mumbai and Rajkot warehouses. Running several machines or stocking multiple sites? Ask about wholesale rates rather than placing repeat retail orders. Bases are usually ordered alongside wax fixing silicon — they are not usable without a fixing medium on top.
