Semsons Tech ST2330 Currency Counting Machine - Note Counter with UV, MG and IR Detection

Counts up to 900 notes a minute, holds 130 notes and checks the notes with UV, MG and IR as they pass.

The ST2330 is a desktop note counting machine, also called a currency counter, bill counter or cash counting machine. It is for businesses that count paper notes every day. You place a stack in the hopper, the machine counts it and checks the notes on the way through, and the count shows on the display. It sits on a shop counter, a cash desk or an office table.

Counting by Hand vs the ST2330

Counting by handWith the ST2330
Every note is counted one at a timeUp to 900 notes a minute, with the count on the display
A long count is lost if you are interruptedThe display holds the count, and ADD keeps a running total across stacks
Each bundle is counted out separatelyBATCH counts every bundle to the same set number
A suspect note is caught only if someone looks for itThe UV and MG checks stop the machine on a suspect note
A torn note or two notes stuck together can slip into the countHalf notes, double notes and notes in a chain are detected
The amount is worked out on paper or a calculatorVALUE gives the amount for a stack of one denomination

The machine does not replace the cashier's judgement: it does the counting and stops on the notes that need a closer look.

How It Works

Rollers draw the notes from the hopper one at a time. A counting sensor counts each note, the UV sensor checks the paper under ultraviolet light, the MG sensor looks for the magnetic ink genuine notes carry, and the infrared (IR) sensors catch two notes passing together. Counted notes collect in the stacker at the front. When a check finds a problem, the machine stops and shows a letter code on the display, so you can take that note out and look at it.

How to Use It

  1. Switch on. Plug the machine into a wall socket and switch it on at the back. It starts in UV mode, ready to count.
  2. Prepare the notes. Take out pins, clips and rubber bands, and straighten folded corners.
  3. Choose the mode. COUNT, BATCH, ADD or VALUE, from Counting Modes and Keys in the Specifications tab. The UV check is on from switch-on; press MG for the magnetic check.
  4. Load the notes. Place up to 130 notes in the hopper, with the edges lined up.
  5. Count. In AUTO mode, counting starts as soon as the notes are in the hopper. In MANUAL mode, it counts when you start it from the keypad.
  6. Read the display and lift the counted notes out of the stacker.
  7. If it stops on a note. A letter code shows. For A, B or F, take the first note out of the stacker, check it by hand and press RESTART to carry on. For C, count the whole stack again.
  8. Start the next stack. RESTART clears the count to zero.

Note Checking

CheckWhat it looks for
UV (ultraviolet)Fake notes are often printed on ordinary white paper that glows under ultraviolet light
MG (magnetic)The magnetic ink that genuine notes carry
IR (infrared)Two notes passing together as one (double notes)
Half notesA torn or half note in the stack
Chain notesNotes overlapping each other as they feed

These checks help you catch a suspect note while you count. When one finds a problem, the machine stops and shows a code (see Codes on the Display in the Specifications tab). No counting machine catches every counterfeit, so check any note it stops on by hand before you accept it.

Counting Modes and Keys

KeyWhat it does
COUNTCounts the notes without the fake note checks
UVUltraviolet check. On by default when the machine is switched on.
MGMagnetic check
BATCHCounts in batches of a set number of notes, for making up bundles
ADDKeeps a running total. Each new stack is added to the last count instead of starting again from zero.
VALUEGives the amount for a stack of one denomination. You choose the denomination, and the machine adds up the notes of that value.
AUTO/MANUALAutomatic start when notes are placed in the hopper, or manual start
RESTARTClears the count to zero and starts again. Also carries on counting after a stop.

VALUE does not read the denomination by itself, and the ST2330 does not total a mixed stack. For a rupee total, sort the notes and count one denomination at a time.

Settings

Hold BATCH while you switch the machine on, for a few seconds, to open the settings.

SettingWhat it changes
C51UV sensitivity, 01 to 09 (factory setting 05). A higher number means lower sensitivity.
C52MG sensitivity, 01 to 09 (factory setting 05). A higher number means higher sensitivity.
C5A1 (factory setting): suspect notes are counted in the total. 2: they are left out of the total.
C5C0 (factory setting): automatic counting. 1: manual counting.

To go back to the factory settings, hold RESTART while you switch the machine on.

Feed Adjustment

The hopper adjustment screw is on the back of the machine. Change it a little at a time and test with a few notes.

  • The count is often wrong: turn the screw clockwise to tighten it.
  • The notes drag in the hopper: turn the screw anticlockwise to loosen it.

Codes on the Display

CodeWhat it means and what to do
AA note did not pass the UV check. Take the first note out of the stacker and press RESTART.
BA note did not pass the MG (magnetic) check. Take the first note out of the stacker and press RESTART.
CNotes went through in a chain and were counted as one. Count the whole stack again.
FHalf note. Take the first note out of the stacker and press RESTART.
E01, E02Counting sensor. Clean the sensor.
E03Code disc sensor. Clean the sensor.

If you count sorted bundles and want every note checked as it passes, the ST2330 does that job. If one count must total a mixed stack of different notes, you need a mixed-denomination value counter instead; ask the sales desk before you order.

Common Questions

What is the ST2330 currency counting machine?

A desktop note counting machine, also called a currency counter or bill counter. It counts paper notes at up to 900 notes a minute, holds up to 130 notes in the hopper and in the stacker, and checks the notes with UV, MG and IR as they pass.

How does a note counting machine work?

Rollers pull the notes from the hopper one at a time past a counting sensor, and checking sensors look at each note on the way. On the ST2330 those are UV, MG and infrared. Counted notes land in the stacker, and the machine stops on a note that fails a check.

How fast does the ST2330 count notes?

Up to 900 notes per minute. The count shows on the LCD as the notes pass, and the machine stops on its own when the hopper is empty.

How many notes can the ST2330 hold?

Up to 130 notes in the hopper and up to 130 in the stacker, so a 100-note bundle goes in at one time.

Does the ST2330 detect fake notes?

It checks the notes with UV and MG while it counts and stops with a code on a suspect note. No machine catches every counterfeit, so check any note it stops on by hand before you accept it.

How accurate is the count?

It counts every note that passes its counting sensor. Take out pins, clips and bands first. If the count is often wrong, tighten the hopper screw at the back a little, as the manual shows. When notes go through in a chain, it shows code C so you can count that stack again.

What do UV, MG and IR mean on a note counting machine?

UV checks the note under ultraviolet light, since many fake notes are printed on paper that glows. MG looks for the magnetic ink genuine notes carry. IR uses infrared light to catch two notes passing together.

Can it detect double notes, half notes and chain notes?

Yes. Double notes are caught by the infrared sensors, a half note shows code F, and notes that go through in a chain show code C, after which you count the stack again.

What is BATCH mode?

BATCH counts the notes in batches of a set number, which is how bundles are made up. The batch figure has its own 6-digit display.

What is ADD mode?

ADD keeps a running total. Count 100 notes, then 50 more, and the display shows 150 instead of starting again from zero.

What is VALUE mode, and can it count mixed denominations?

VALUE gives the amount for a stack of one denomination: you choose the denomination and the machine adds up the notes. It does not recognise the denomination by itself, so it does not total a mixed stack. For a rupee total, sort the notes and count one denomination at a time.

Which notes can the ST2330 count?

Notes from 50 × 110 mm to 90 × 180 mm in size and 0.075–0.15 mm thick. Every Indian rupee note in circulation falls within that size range.

Is the ST2330 suitable for jewellery shops, petrol pumps and banks?

Yes, for counting loose notes at a desk. Jewellery shops, supermarkets, wholesalers, petrol pumps, finance offices, cooperative societies and bank counters use a machine of this kind for daily cash. It counts one denomination at a time, so a desk that needs one count to total mixed notes needs a value counter.

What is the price of the ST2330, and does it include GST?

₹5,699 including 18% GST. It is the festival season offer, 43% off the ₹9,999 MRP. Nothing is added at checkout: the cart and your proforma invoice show the GST part of the price separately.

What invoice do I get, and can it show my company GSTIN?

Every order comes with a proforma invoice that shows the price before GST and the GST separately. Add your company name and GSTIN at checkout and they are printed on it.

Where can I buy the ST2330 in India, and how do I order?

Order it online on this page: add it to the cart, sign in or create an account, and pay online through Razorpay. It is delivered free anywhere in India. Our office is in Mumbai.

Do you give a better price for several machines?

For several machines, call or WhatsApp the wholesale desk on +91 80823 38010 with the quantity and your city.

Is shipping free, and when is it dispatched?

Delivery is free anywhere in India. The machine is usually dispatched within 2 days of your order. Delivery time after dispatch depends on the courier and your location.

What warranty does the ST2330 have?

A 1-year warranty is included, counted from the invoice date. For a fault, call or WhatsApp +91 98216 12340 with your order number.

Do you provide after-sales service?

Yes. For a fault, call or WhatsApp +91 98216 12340 with your order number. Within 7 days of delivery, a machine with a manufacturing defect is reviewed for replacement; after that, faults are handled under the 1-year warranty from the invoice date.

How do I look after the machine?

Keep pins, clips, rubber bands and dust out of the hopper. When an E code shows, clean the sensor it names: E01 or E02 is the counting sensor, E04 the hopper sensor, E05 the stacker sensor. If the code keeps coming back, call us.

Can I return the ST2330?

No. There is no general return on this product. If it arrives with a manufacturing defect or damage, contact us within 7 days of delivery for a replacement review.

What should I do if the machine arrives damaged?

Contact us within 7 days of delivery on WhatsApp +91 98216 12340 or at [email protected], with your order number, a continuous unboxing video, clear photos or a video of the damage, photos of the outer box and a photo of the serial number label. We check them and replace a machine with a verified manufacturing defect or damage. If the courier box itself arrived damaged, tell us within 48 hours of delivery.

What does an error code like A or E04 mean?

A letter code means the machine stopped on a note: A and B are the UV and MG checks, F is a half note, and C means notes went through in a chain. An E code points to a sensor, for example E04 for the hopper sensor: clean that sensor, and call us if the code keeps coming back.
