Laser Welding Machines

Machines that weld precious metal with a pulse of laser light instead of a flame. The energy goes into a spot you can set down to a fraction of a millimetre, and each pulse is over in thousandths of a second, so the heat is spent before it travels far enough to reach a set stone. That is what lets a workshop size a ring, re-tip a prong or close a chain link without taking the stones out first.

You work under a microscope with the joint on a crosshair, and argon blows over the spot while it is molten so the weld comes out bright rather than oxidised. The weld is the parent metal fused to itself, so it polishes up the same colour as the rest of the piece with no solder line to hide. Gold in every karat, silver, platinum and palladium all take the weld. Installation and operator training are included on every machine, with service across 16+ Indian cities.
