Gold Analyzer XRF Signet - PC

A touch screen, a keyboard and mouse, and the Windows computer, all in one cabinet.

The plain Signet Si-Pin has to be wired to a computer you supply. This model has that computer built in, running Windows, with the screen set into the front panel. Press test on the screen, or run it from the keyboard - both work, so staff who tap and staff who type use the same machine. You place the item in the chamber, close the door and run the test. In 5 to 60 seconds the karat, the purity percentage and the metals in the alloy are on screen.

How It Works

The machine sends a very low-power X-ray at the item. Every metal reacts to X-rays in its own way and sends back its own signal. The detector reads those signals, and the computer in the cabinet works out which metals are present and how much of each. From that it calculates the karat. This is why the test is exact and why it is non-destructive. Nothing touches the piece except light.

How to Use It

  1. Place the item in the chamber and close the door. The camera puts the test spot on the screen, so you can aim at the metal and not at a stone.
  2. Run the test - press it on the touch screen, or start it from the keyboard. Choose a short run for a buying decision, or a 60 second run when the number is going on a certificate.
  3. Read the result on screen - karat, gold percentage and the metals in the alloy. Print it, save it against the customer, or export it over USB or the network.

There is no sample preparation and no chemical to handle.

What the Built-In Computer Gives You

FeatureWhat you get
Windows computer inside the cabinetNo tower under the counter and no laptop to keep charged
Touch screen in the front panelKarat, purity %, metal breakdown, plating alert and camera view on one screen
Keyboard and mouse as well as touchCustomer names and reference numbers go in by typing, not tapping
Full Windows desktopYour own billing, stock or accounts software can run on the same machine
Analyzer software suppliedMatched to the detector your machine is ordered with
Customer records on boardEvery test is stored against the customer, with date and time
Printer connects directlyA report goes to the customer without exporting the reading anywhere first
One power switchThe analyzer and the computer start and shut down together

What It Protects You From

ProblemWhat the analyzer does
Gold-plated brass or copper sold as goldRaises a gold plating alert when only the surface is gold
Tungsten-filled bars and biscuitsSees the tungsten core under the gold layer. Density tests miss this because tungsten weighs almost the same as gold.
Under-karat jewelleryGives the karat to within ±0.50% on gold content, not a range. 18K that is really 16K shows up at once.
Lead or cadmium in the alloyReports both, which matters for export orders
Disputes with customersPrints a report with the metal breakdown, from the machine itself

What You Can Test

Rings, chains, bangles, necklaces and earrings, including pieces with stones set in them. Gold coins, biscuits and bars. Scrap and old gold. Silver, platinum and palladium. Watches and dental alloys. Anything with a metal surface large enough for the 1.5 mm test spot.

  • Bullion traders verifying bars and biscuits before payment
  • Gold loan branches valuing customer gold, with the reading saved against the customer file
  • Hallmarking centres giving official karat certification
  • Refiners confirming output purity before dispatch
  • Counters with mixed staff - some tap the screen, some use the keyboard, on the same machine

Common Questions

How is this different from the Signet Si-Pin with Touch Screen?

Both have the Windows computer and the screen built into the body, and both are worked by touch. The difference is the detector and software tier. This model reads 7 metals in one pass to a tolerance of ±0.50% on gold content, which is what a buying, pledging or scrap decision needs. The Gold Analyzer XRF Signet Si-Pin with Touch Screen sits above it, reading up to 72 elements to a tighter ±0.30%, for work where the figure goes onto a certificate. Tell us which of the two jobs the machine is for and we will point you at the right one.

Which detector does it come with?

A Si-PIN detector as standard, and an SDD detector on request. The software is matched to the detector when the machine is ordered, so tell us what you test and how the figure is used before you confirm.

What does ±0.50% on gold content mean?

It is how far a reading can sit from the true figure. On a piece that is 91.60% gold, the analyzer reads within half a percentage point either way. Acid testing puts you in a range of roughly two to three karats, damages the piece, and cannot see plating or a tungsten fill at all.

How is this different from the plain Signet Si-Pin?

The plain Si-Pin has no computer and no screen - it has to be connected to a PC or laptop you supply before it will run. This model has both built into the cabinet.

Is it safe to stand next to all day?

Yes. The X-ray tube runs at only 4 watts, the chamber is sealed and lead-shielded, and the X-ray switches off automatically the moment the door opens. The machine will not run with the door open. It meets BIS, IEC and FDA radiation safety standards.

Will it damage the jewellery?

No. Nothing touches the piece. There is no scratching, no acid and no filing. The customer gets the item back exactly as it was.

Can it test a piece with stones in it?

Yes. The camera shows the test spot, so you aim the 1.5 mm spot at the metal and avoid the stone. The stones do not need to be removed.

Does it detect fake gold bars?

Yes. Tungsten-filled bars pass density tests because tungsten weighs almost the same as gold. XRF reads the composition and flags the tungsten core under the gold layer.

Can I print a report for the customer?

Yes. Connect a printer to the machine and the report prints with the karat, purity percentage and metal breakdown. Every test is kept in the history on the built-in computer, and can be exported over USB or the network.

How long does the X-ray tube last?

About 8,000 hours of operation, which is roughly 48,000 tests. At 50 tests a day that is over two and a half years. Replacement tubes are stocked by Semsons.

Does it need special power or a special room?

No. It runs on a normal 220–240 V socket and sits on a counter. No separate room and no extraction is needed.

Is training included?

Yes. A Semsons technician installs the machine, checks radiation safety, calibrates it against reference samples and trains your operator on site.

Pricing, Installation & Support

Price is quoted per configuration, because the detector grade and the software options change the figure. Send us a WhatsApp message with your daily testing volume and we will quote the right setup. On-site installation, calibration and operator training are included. 1 year warranty, extendable with an annual maintenance contract that covers calibration checks and tube health. Replacement X-ray tubes and calibration reference samples are stocked. EMI options are available through partner banks. Service across 16+ Indian cities.
