Equipment guide · Rajkot

Semsons Tech has an office in Rajkot, on Gulab Wadi Society Street-1 off Nana Mava Road, near the Marketing Yard.

We supply automatic stone setting machines, sorting trays, suction nozzles and workshop consumables to Rajkot's jewellery manufacturers. Machines are installed on site, operators are trained on them, and stocked spares go out the same day. This page covers why Rajkot buys differently from the rest of India, what units here actually order, and how to reach the office.

Why is Rajkot a different market?

Rajkot makes bulk silver jewellery on automated lines. The problem to solve here is holding quality across very long runs, not hitting a tolerance on one expensive piece.

Rajkot is known worldwide for silver jewellery produced at volume on machines. The work is homogeneous and precise, and it runs in large batches. That is a different production problem from Mumbai's studded export work or Kolkata's handmade goldwork, and it changes what a machine has to be good at.

Rajkot is also unusual in a second way. It is a machinery town as well as a jewellery town, with one of India's densest concentrations of jewellery machinery and tool makers. Buyers here know equipment well and compare it carefully. Two things follow from that, and together they shape every sale in this city.

  • Consistency over a long run is the whole job. On a batch of thousands of identical pieces, a setting line that drifts does not cost you one piece. It costs you the batch. The number that matters is ±0.02 mm placement held hour after hour, not the speed on the brochure.
  • You are talking to an informed buyer. In most cities we explain what a setting machine does. In Rajkot the customer usually already knows, has seen several, and is comparing us against a local maker. That is a fair fight and we would rather have it openly than pretend the competition is not there.

A Mumbai buyer and a Rajkot buyer often choose differently even though the machines are identical. Mumbai's studded export work has a different volume pattern — see the Mumbai and SEEPZ page for that.

Rajkot has its own machinery makers. Why buy from us?

You do have local options, and some of them will quote below us. We would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.

What we compete on is not the sticker price. It is what happens in the two years after the machine arrives.

  • Genuine spare parts, held in stock. Silicone and mounting bases go out the same day from the Rajkot and Mumbai warehouses, trays and nozzles in about 1 to 2 days. A cheaper machine with a six-week wait for a spare is not a cheaper machine.
  • Operator training, on site. A setting machine only reaches its rated output when the operator knows it properly. That is a training problem, not a hardware one, and it is included with every machine we install.
  • Service in 16+ Indian cities, through 40+ distributors and 450+ dealers. If you open a second unit outside Rajkot, the support does not change.
  • In business since 1978, now third generation. Equipment is CE, ISI and ISO 9001 certified, and setting machines carry a 12-month warranty that can be extended. Semsons Tech has won the JMA Award from the Jewellers Manufacturers Association.

The honest version

If price is your only criterion, buy locally — you will do well. If a stopped line costs you more than the difference between the two quotes, that is the case for buying from us, and it is the only case we are going to make.

What do Rajkot units buy?

Automatic stone setting first, then the parts that keep those lines running. Six equipment lines in total.

X4 Pro Plus setting machine

  • Speed15,000 stones an hour
  • Feed4 trays, 12,800 stones
  • In one runUp to 8 colours or sizes

The usual choice for continuous silver runs.

Pro Mini setting machine

  • Power1.3 kW, single phase

Where smaller units and job workers usually start.

Sorting trays and nozzles

  • Sizes0.8 mm to 3.0 mm
  • Nozzles502 to 504, five sizes
  • StockSame-day dispatch

Match the tray and the nozzle to the same size band.

Silicone and mounting bases

  • HoldsThe wax model, during the run
  • Base76 mm disc with stud
  • PacksSingle, 1 kg, 2 kg

The most common reason a setting room stops is an empty tub.

Ultrasonic cleaner

  • ModelST4820
  • Tank2.3 L
  • Frequency40 kHz

For cleaning after setting, and before QC. For a larger tank, ask the sales desk what is available.

Portable gold testing machine

  • DamageNone — no acid, no scratch

Battery powered, for karat checks at the counter or on a visit.

Not sure which tray or nozzle fits your stones?

The tray and nozzle selector has the full pairing chart, 0.8 mm to 3.0 mm. Or call the desk and read out your stone size.

Do these machines work for silver, not just gold?

Yes. What decides the setting is the stone size and the wax model, not the metal the piece will finally be cast in.

This is worth spelling out, because the machines are often described in gold terms and Rajkot's work is silver. Stones are set into a wax model. The machine picks a stone from a tray, holds it on a suction nozzle and places it in the wax. Everything it does is governed by how big the stone is and how the wax model is shaped. The casting metal comes later in the process and the machine never touches it.

So the same machines, the same trays and the same nozzles serve Rajkot's silver lines and Mumbai's gold export units. Nothing needs to be configured differently, and there is no silver version of any of these products to ask for.

The one place the metal does matter is testing. The portable gold testing machine is set up to show the karat of gold, so ask the sales desk which tester suits a silver line before you buy.

This is the second office, not the head office

The head office is in Kandivali West, Mumbai, and has been since 1978. Rajkot is a second office serving Gujarat. Both carry stock, and both dispatch spares the same day.

If a line is down, call sales rather than ordering online. The part can be checked against your machine model before it ships, which is faster than sending the wrong nozzle quickly.

Common questions

Is there a Semsons Tech office in Rajkot, or only in Mumbai?

Both. The head office is in Kandivali West, Mumbai, and the Rajkot office is on Gulab Wadi Society Street-1 off Nana Mava Road, near the Marketing Yard, Rajkot 360003. Both carry stock and both dispatch spares the same day.

Do these machines work for silver as well as gold?

Yes. Stones are set into a wax model, so what decides the setting is the stone size and the shape of the wax model, not the metal the piece is later cast in. The same machines, trays and nozzles serve Rajkot's silver lines and Mumbai's gold export work, with nothing configured differently.

Rajkot has its own machinery makers. Why buy from Semsons Tech?

You do have local options and some will quote below us, which we would rather say plainly. What we compete on is what happens after the machine arrives: genuine spares held in stock and dispatched the same day, operator training included with installation, and service in 16+ Indian cities through 40+ distributors and 450+ dealers. If price is your only criterion, buy locally. If a stopped line costs you more than the difference between the quotes, talk to us.

How fast can you get a spare part to a Rajkot unit?

Stocked spares, silicone and mounting bases dispatch the same day from the Rajkot and Mumbai warehouses; sorting trays and suction nozzles in about 1 to 2 days. If a line is down, call sales rather than ordering online, so the part can be confirmed against your machine model before it ships.

Which setting machine do most Rajkot units buy?

The X4 Pro Plus double-station machine, because Rajkot's work is long continuous runs. It sets 15,000 stones an hour across all stations from a four-tray feed holding 12,800 stones, holds ±0.02 mm placement, and can run up to 8 colours or sizes in one job. Smaller units and job workers more often start with the single-station Pro Mini at up to 10,000 stones an hour.

Do these machines need a three-phase connection?

No. Both setting machines run on ordinary single-phase 220 V. The X4 Pro Plus draws 3 kVA at peak and the Pro Mini draws 1.3 kW, so a normal workshop supply is enough. The Pro Mini also needs an 80 psi compressed air supply.

Can you service a machine bought from someone else?

Ask sales. Genuine spares are supplied for Semsons machines. For other makes it depends on the model, so tell us what you have and you will get a straight yes or no rather than a maybe.

Why are machine prices not shown on the site?

Because the price depends on the configuration you need, where it is being delivered and how much installation work is involved, so any number shown here would be wrong for most buyers. Send us your stone sizes, monthly volume and current setting method and you will get a direct quotation.
